Bridgegate: Ex-Port Authority Exec Met Feds Last Week
David Wildstein, the central figure in the scandal surrounding the George Washington Bridge access lane closures, has been meeting with federal prosecutors investigating the incident and its connections with Gov. Chris Christie’s administration, according to a report.
The website mainjustice.com, which reports on the federal Department of Justice, cited sources who confirmed that Wildstein, a former executive with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, “was camped at the U.S. Attorney’s Office” last week, talking with prosecutors about the September 2013 lane closings.
Wildstein said he had informed Christie of the lane closings on September 11, 2013, when the governor, Wildstein and other Port Authority executives were gathered for ceremonies marking the anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.
